Website design in Cape Town, built for your season.
A great deal of Western Cape business arrives in a rush and from somewhere else — a visitor on hotel wifi, four months before they travel, comparing three places at once. We build sites that hold up under exactly that: fast from overseas, clear about price in any currency, and straightforward to book.
Cape Town businesses have a different problem to solve
In Johannesburg, most website traffic is local, immediate and practical: someone needs a thing today and is choosing who to call. A great deal of Cape Town traffic is neither local nor immediate. It is someone in Rotterdam in August planning a February trip, or a Londoner comparing four guest houses on a phone in a hotel lobby.
That changes what the site has to do. It has to load quickly from far away, make sense to someone who has never been here, answer a price question in a currency they think in, and let them commit without a phone call across five time zones. Most Western Cape sites we are asked to review fail at two or three of those, usually while looking perfectly pleasant.
What we build differently for the Western Cape
- Fast from anywhere, not just from here. Static pages with no framework, served from a global edge network. A visitor in Europe gets your site from a nearby location rather than waiting on a round trip to a server in South Africa.
- Prices in the currency they think in. A guest who has to open a converter to understand your rate is deciding at a disadvantage. The header of this very site switches between rand, dollars and pounds — that is the same mechanism.
- Booking that is actually finishable on a phone. Direct booking flows, or a clean integration with the reservation system or channel manager you already run. For accommodation the commercial goal is usually shifting volume off the commission platforms and onto direct bookings you keep in full.
- Built for seasonal peaks. Static hosting does not fall over when a feature lands you in front of ten thousand people at once, and there is no database to buckle in December.
- Design that survives an aesthetic city. Cape Town customers are visually fluent and a template reads as a template here faster than anywhere else in the country. Nothing we build starts from a theme.
- Photography treated as the asset it is. In hospitality, tourism, food and wine, the images are the product. We compress and serve them so they look right without costing you the load time.
If your demand peaks between November and February, rebuild between June and September. New pages need time to be crawled and indexed before the traffic arrives, and nobody should be changing a booking flow during their busiest fortnight of the year. We say this even when it means waiting to invoice you.
The industries we see most here
Not an exhaustive list, and not a claim that we only work with these — simply where Western Cape enquiries actually come from.
- Accommodation and hospitality. Guest houses, boutique hotels, self-catering. Direct bookings, seasonal rates, availability clarity.
- Restaurants and food. Menus that are actually readable on a phone, reservations, and a site that survives being linked from a review.
- Wine and agriculture. Tastings, cellar tours, direct sales and export enquiries, often to two audiences in different currencies.
- Tours and experiences. Availability, deposits, and enough substance to be booked by someone who has not arrived in the country yet.
- Creative and professional services. Studios, architects, consultants — where the site is a portfolio and a credibility test at the same time.
- Trades and local services. The ordinary local-search job, which works here the same way it works in Gauteng.

Where we are, plainly
We are in the Western Cape — Cape Town and Stellenbosch — as well as Johannesburg. So the people working on a Western Cape site are not reading about the market from eight hundred kilometres away. They know what a Stellenbosch harvest season does to a cellar door’s traffic, and what February looks like in Camps Bay.
That said, most of the work does not require anybody to be in a room. The brief is a single fifteen-minute call, everything after it happens over email and phone, and the timelines are the same wherever you are. If you would rather sit across a table, say so on the call and we will arrange it.
What it costs
One monthly figure covers design, build, hosting, security, maintenance and unlimited changes, with no setup fee and no fixed term. You pay nothing until the build is something you are happy with. The levels are published on the services and pricing page.
If you are gathering quotes from Cape Town studios first, our guide to what a website actually costs in South Africa gives you the market ranges and the questions that make two quotes genuinely comparable.
Common questions
Yes. We are situated in Cape Town and Stellenbosch, as well as Johannesburg, so Western Cape clients are working with people who know the market rather than reading about it from another province. Most of the work does not need anyone in a room, though: the brief is one fifteen-minute call and everything after it happens over email and phone. If you would rather meet, say so and we will arrange it.
Well before the season, not during it. For a Cape Town business whose demand peaks between November and February, the sensible window is roughly June to September. That gives the new pages months to be crawled and indexed before the traffic arrives, and it means nobody is changing the booking flow in the middle of your busiest fortnight.
Yes, and for a business selling to overseas visitors it is worth doing. A guest who has to open a currency converter to understand your rate is a guest deciding at a disadvantage. The site you are reading has a currency switcher in its own header, which is the same mechanism.
Yes. That can mean a direct booking flow on your own site, or an integration with the channel manager or reservation system you already use. For accommodation, the commercial point is usually to shift some volume off the booking platforms and their commission onto direct bookings you keep in full.
It matters a great deal. An overseas visitor is often on hotel wifi, an eSIM or expensive roaming data, and is much further from the server than a local visitor. Our pages carry no framework code and are served from a global edge network, so they load quickly from London or New York rather than only from Cape Town.
Before you commission anything
Fifteen minutes, before your season starts.
Tell us what your Cape Town business needs the site to do. If we’re the wrong people for it, we’ll say so on the call rather than take the work.
